Re: Orient watch repairs/servicing at big time watches
They had to send my OS300 back to Japan for servicing due to the crown being unable to push back in. Took a little while, but overall was satisfied with the service. Here's an old thread on BT and servicing, may have been some bad, but mostly good. Overall, think there is no reason to worry. (Btw, B...

Ah, agreed it's an academic discussion only, as said before, very likely no difference in quality. Still, hypothesizing is fun.

Re: Any bros here bought watches from Rakuten??
Just make sure If you are trying to buy directly from Rakuten that you read the Store Info page for the respective seller first to see if they are indeed able to 1) process your payment and 2) ship the item overseas.
Good luck finding your new watch!

Re: japan made/other country made seiko, difference/advantag
Pure speculation below: Watch enthusiast like us are just a small portion of the market, the mass market segment they are targeting would not be too concerned over J or K or even any random alphabet placed behind so its a case of which version is cheaper/easier for them to bring in to distribute at...

Re: What's your latest buy! (Hoot thread)
Doubt it. This is a Calibre 481, hand-wind model with 50hr PR. Not sure if they used it in other watches or not, it's hard to tell with Orient's calibres....

Re: Any bros here bought watches from Rakuten??
Oh. I tot rakuten is a store by itself? Interestg Yea, as Solanum mentioned, Rakuten in Japan is really just a middleman for other stores to sell things. Don't confuse them with Rakuten in the USA, however, which is the former Buy.com that Rakuten Japan bought and rebadged. They do operate more lik...

Very long.
Can summarize?

Essentially:
"Made in Japan" label = X% made in Japan
X% = Depends on country
Question: Can X% be 0 in any country (if made by Japanese company)?

Re: Questions about marine master 300...
Let me clarify to you bro. My SBDX001, is really brand new. I get it from the Indonesian AD,and rightaway do the transaction (face to face deal) in Singapore with my customers. What you should have known is it is not easy to replace the movement, and infact to replace the movement or to open the ca...

Re: Any bros here bought watches from Rakuten??
Rakuten is just a middle man that informs the shops of your orders + provide them your payment information. End of the day you are dealing with the individual shops directly and sometimes the shops dont speak english at all so communication might be a problem. I have read of cases where products re...

Re: japan made/other country made seiko, difference/advantag
The question is why are non-JDM 'Made in Japan' watches not offered by TS, even when such labeling seems to command a premium (for whatever reason)? Instead, most, if not all, seem to feature Arabic / English dials? I believe the same phenomenon is seen in at least America and Europe too. You have t...

Re: Question... Anyone play Seiko Shogun..
Unfortunately, many "seiko" enthusiasts feel that the pricing does not justify the upgrade and as someone said in WUS before but for a comparable Swiss brand, they would willingly fork out anywhere from 2X-4/5X the Shogun price. :( I personally do not have a Shogun because it is not as easily avail...
