Btw its a capacitor, though it looks exactly like a button shape watch battery

Re: Replacement of kinetic battery
It was originally a capacitor, but Seiko changed it to a rechargeable Lithium battery later.
You can order the correct replacement online /ebay by noting the specific kinetic movement on your watch. And ask watch repairers such as K2 to do the swap for you as they may not have the specific battery you need.

Re: Replacement of kinetic battery
I changed mine at k2. K2 has the battery for my model. Best is caĺl him to chk if he has your movement.
Price work out to be cheaper than ordering from ebay and fix myself.

After postage cost, it is cheaper to change at K2.
Note: I am unrelated to K2 in any way.

Re: Replacement of kinetic battery
I went thru the same dilemma a few months back. Almost wanted to get from ebay, I thought I give Mr Goh a call before I hit the buy button.. The price he quoted was slightly less than the ebay+shipping. Went down to his store, and he allows me to check the battery just to confirm it's the same lithium battery as ebay (I wanted the lithium one), before proceeding to change for me.kiwitan wrote:Change myself.TheChef wrote:Change at K2.
