Post by kiwitan » 22 Oct 2014 21:36

My 6 years old kinetic diver watch is unable to hold its charge.
Where can I go to replace the battery beside thing sia
It opens Monday to Friday 9 to 6 pm and close on Saturday

My office hours doesn't allow me to go to thong sia during its opening hours
How much would it cost to have it replace eh ah.

If its not mono case meaning, able to open at back with normal screw down case back k2 and his brother should be able to do at their respective shops n operating hours.

Btw its a capacitor, though it looks exactly like a button shape watch battery

It was originally a capacitor, but Seiko changed it to a rechargeable Lithium battery later.

You can order the correct replacement online /ebay by noting the specific kinetic movement on your watch. And ask watch repairers such as K2 to do the swap for you as they may not have the specific battery you need.

I changed mine at k2. K2 has the battery for my model. Best is caĺl him to chk if he has your movement.
Price work out to be cheaper than ordering from ebay and fix myself.

After postage cost, it is cheaper to change at K2.

Note: I am unrelated to K2 in any way.

I went thru the same dilemma a few months back. Almost wanted to get from ebay, I thought I give Mr Goh a call before I hit the buy button.. The price he quoted was slightly less than the ebay+shipping. Went down to his store, and he allows me to check the battery just to confirm it's the same lithium battery as ebay (I wanted the lithium one), before proceeding to change for me.
