Good place to get Cheap seiko anyone?
Good place to get Cheap seiko anyone?
Hello fellow Singaporeans and members. I am trying to get myself and my girlfriend a couple watch. We have decide to go for the skx007 and skx013.
We have went from little India(mustafa), bugis bencoolen, lucky plaza, peninsula plaza.
To be honest there are one or two shops that have the best price of between 280 - 300 sgd (rubber strap model)
Just to save a few more dollars do you have guys have any good shops in Singapore to recommend.
If possible quoted the price along with the shop info please

Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't
own it, but you can use it. You can't keep
it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it
you can never get it back.

Re: Good place to get Cheap seiko anyone?
To be frank... i'm not going to be bull shit here.
I understand why you're going to hunt for the cheapest Seiko in the market here.
If i'm in your shoes, few thing will come into my mind.
1. Affordability to be use as a gift, presentable with reliable built quality.
2. Affordability to be sacrifice, using the watch you buy to live thru bashing and harsh environment, aka the workplace.
3. Affordability to be use for modding, without feeling guilty when the piece you buy, gets "strip" apart later for modding.
Ok... what to choose and where to choose...
I dare to say, the cheapest Seikos you can find in the market, is in little india. But Mustafa is not the only place where you can go. Generally, in little india, you can find 2 types of Seikos. One with local warranty, one totally not! The one with warranty is available in Mustafa, the non-warranty one is available there as well, but Mustafa is not the only one player in that district. Look around, you'll find the best lowest tag there. But should you prefer to get those export ones without warranty, anything wrong, your pasa...
Next, the regular sellers as well as other retailers. Generally, there are also 2 types Seikos you can find from them. One with local warranty, another parallel import sets with in-house warranty honored by the seller themselves. The parallel imported sets are of course lesser than the ThongSia warranty local sets, which mostly come with a hefty price tag, that tends to chase some customers away. Those who're impatient to wait for parallel imported sets, will most likely to go for ThongSia sets, aka the latest releases. Comparing the price of the parallel sets against those that offered from little india, of course you'll have to pay a little more like $30 extra to these sellers. $30 for a year warranty from these parallel import sellers, do you think worth it?
Last but not least, the totally parallel import seller, like Skywatch aka Watch Fashion @ Chinatown, or CreationWatches from the internet. Their watches are mostly parallel imported. So the price is competitive to those retailers who sells parallel sets as well... But what's the diff.? Well... if you ask me, i'll say it's about after sales service. If i buy from a retailer from BrasBasah or Bencoolen, at least i know where to claim for the warranty service on the movement. If it's somebody like CreationWatches, i will have no idea where to claim for the warranty lo...
So... your choice lo...

Re: Good place to get Cheap seiko anyone?
I found K2's SKX013 to be the cheapest. For SKX007, if you do not mind used, there should be lightly worn pieces popping up every so often. Here's my wife's and mine:

We bought all our first 9 admission ticket into the seiko world through uncle Goh of k2 this month. Didn't really shop around but I find the prices reasonable.
Here's my wife's and my couple watch. Here's is the all black, mine is the other all black and the gold and black. All are 55's of course.
