Tokkotai Project's Presentation

Post by DAGUE » 28 May 2013 16:51

My name is Jose and I am a member of a Spanish forum called clubseiko (a forum very similar to this, mainly by membership's number).
We decided to make our first project in tribute to a legendary watch Seiko (Seikosha), It'is WWII Japan Imperial Navy pilot's watch
inspired:

We are going to keep dial&hands close to its origin, the case size is 43 mm. Water ressistance: 200 meters, screwed crown . Case made of 316 steel, plus a sapphire glass with AR coating. Hand winded movement was replaced by the automtic NH35 (4R35), with hacking and hand winding.
The Enterprise that is going to make it is G.Gerlach.

Currently where we are?
The total number of watches are 150. 144 units have been assigned, only rest 6. In few days Gerlach is going to send us the prototype. The watch will be finished in September-October, depending if changes are needed in the prototype.
Finally this is our watch:

Hi,
In general we are trying to adjust it to the original watch, but there are some items that we were unable to apply:
- Manual movement (Seiko all movements that are available are automatic movements. We could modify them ... but it would be like to amputate it)
- Rotating inner bezel (we had to choose between this and the water resistance, it was not possible to keep both without changing the case design)
Thanks

This is so exciting, so let me ask on the behalf of the rest of the members here.

I see the investment is clearly listed here: http://clubseiko.foroactivo.com/t1362-d ... d-payments" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

How about shipping to Asia, specifically to Singapore for us ? And does that price includes VAT ?

I asked to gerlach a couple of months ago, and there were 15 € for send to singapore, but I'll look again.
The price is final, of course after depends of customs of each of our countries ;) (that it will have to pay each one).

Guys, hope you understand Jose is posting it here for awareness with our permission of course.

So if you are keen, do register through their forum individually, unless someone wants to step out and assist with a MO for SCS.
