Questions about marine master 300...
Hi guys,
I am considering to take the plunge on a mm300. But I have a couple of questions I hope you guys can help me with.
1. How long is the recommended service interval?
2. Approximately how much will it cost to service? I read somewhere its $700.00 if you go to thong sia, and around $200.00 if you go to k2, correct?
3. Notwithstanding the price, is it hard to service a marinemaster? I hate to find years down the road that only thong sia can service! Are there any places where I can service a marinemaster.
Thanks in advance!

Those are very valid concerns.
There's a long thread on MM300 ownership, it went through most of them. Let me dig that out.

Re: Questions about marine master 300...
I read through that thread already...but it didn't answer all my questions...
Anyway, I've been reading through other forums and came up with this. Bros please correct me if I am wrong
1. Service interval is 5-7 years
2.thong sia, k2, big time can service, price ranges from $100++ to $$700
3. Any other places where can service mm300?

Re: Questions about marine master 300...
I do believe the other alternative is if you purchase your watch from chino, higuchi or seiya, you can send the mm300 back to them to do servicing in japan.

Ic.
While goh servicing is more affordable, water resistance is another thing to consider.
IMO, intervals are subjective, depends if its a daily beater or a drawer queen.
Also depends it you want to wear it till symptoms shows like bad time keeping, or you service it proactively.

Re: Questions about marine master 300...
Servicing a Automatic watch is important , $700.00 is a lot of $$ to spend on a MM300 service
Re: Questions about marine master 300...
Alternatively, buy a watch with less complicated yet robust movement like 6309. Costs only around $60 for full overhaul.MIKER wrote:Servicing a Automatic watch is important , $700.00 is a lot of $$ to spend on a MM300 service

But the casing and bezel etc etc on a mm300 are so much nicer than a normal seiko...TheChef wrote:Alternatively, buy a watch with less complicated yet robust movement like 6309. $60 to $180 for a service or overhaul is reasonable .

Re: Questions about marine master 300...
Can service at Ah goh place then bring to thong sia for a water resistance test if cost of servicing is a problem.
Else send through thong sia back to Japan for servicing would be a more sound choice.

Re: Questions about marine master 300...
I've been checking out the prices. $2800 ++ from Big TIme. From seiyajapan also $2800++ including GST. Cheapest is from shaggy angel. Only $2500!
Looking for feedback from bros, is he a reputable seller? What happens if got any warranty issue etc etc? I know seiyajapan is an AD so definately no problem.

Re: Questions about marine master 300...
Yes, shaggy angel's sold a couple of MM300's within Singapore and some to members here as well (not me). His reputation is considered good.
Do note, though, the warranty might not be utilizable in Singapore. Seiya's will likely be Japan-only, as most JDM's are. I'm not sure what Seiko's policy for Indonesia is, but catching a Lion Air flight to Jakarta's much easier than going to Tokyo!

Re: Questions about marine master 300...
marinemaster is indeed one solid looking diver with heritage from its 300m grandpa. Think you wouldn't regret getting one.

Re: Questions about marine master 300...
Shaggyangel definitely reliable. From personal experience, he will go out of his way to help if there is a problem with your purchase. Though I have not tried at TS but his warranties are stamped by Indonesia AD and are international warranties. Read somewhere that a member had no problems with the warranty at TS.
