Grand Seiko Power Reserve Spring Drive (Ref: SBGE027)

Post by Aristotle » 04 Aug 2014 22:34

Hi all,

New to this forum.

I was looking at the above-mentioned piece and couldn't find much reviews online.

Humbly requesting any Seiko gurus for your professional and honest reviews/inputs.

I need some advice before I take the plunge.

Thanks in advance.

Follow your heart and take the plunge .. but having said that , ask everything before pulling the trigger is always a wise decision .
Good luck and welcome to SCS !

I have the SBDB001 a.k.a. MM600 and the 9S55 movement has been keeping great time! It's been 3 months since I've owned it and it seems to be +/- 1-3s per day, depending on when I pick it up.
The 72 hours PR is really, really amazing and it being handwound is pretty amazing too. Trust me, you will enjoy looking at that smooth second hand sweep. It is a joy to sit down, relax, raise your wrist up and just stare at the watch, see how the bottom of the reflective second hand gives off hint of reflection on the highly-polished hour indices on the dial. Oh, did I mention about the capped second hand?

Totally amazing.
