GS advice ?

Post by Ender » 06 May 2015 16:23

Ok, finally ready to get a GS
But sorting out my options is starting to get messy
So if any members can point me in the right direction, it will be greatly appreciated.
My wish list for the GS
1. strap - preferably non bracelet (I suppose I can always switch the bracelet with a strap but I wld like to avoid if possible)
2. dial - preferably grey or black or textured but NO date. Also simple, no power indicator, sub registers etc.
3. modern/vintage - open to both vintage and modern pieces, though I am partial to vintage

Last but not least, Mr Goh @ K2 is my default go to guy if anything goes wrong with my Seikos and ors.
Is he able to deal with GS problems or must I get such problems fixed at Thong Sia or even at Seiko HQ Japan?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.
TIA!

no date GS is only quartz, all their auto, hi beat and SD comes with date

and only few quartz comes with leather version, you can visit their website to sort out the list, should be quite easy to find what you like :)

not sure about Mr Goh, but by far only place can service GS is in Japan

good luck and happy hunting :)

think also depends on your budget.

I got a SBGR061 2.5 years ago and its still working like new...vintage looking, cream dial, leather strap, really comfortable to wear...but like bro david.tan mention, it automatic and with date...

You might want to consider a 4520 ...

I do NOT need another watch , I have enough watches ...

I don't think K2 is qualified to service a GS. Even if you get your GS from CityChain Seiko boutiques ThongSia still sends them back to Japan for servicing. The last time I checked with ThongSia, the only thing they can do locally is to perform battery change on quartz GS.

yrh0413 thanks!
If they had a grey or textured dialed SBGW031, it will be perfect!

like David mentioned above, most of the GS has date complication... only very limited models don't.

4520 not 4250.
