I prefer the ETA 2892 (vs the 2824 ) , and 20ATM ...
I do NOT need another watch , I have enough watches ...

A wacky idea I thought of in the bus coming home :

Name : SCS TunaCan (20 ATM)
Movement : ETA 2892 (or 2824 for those on a budget)
Case : Ti with SS 316L shroud (SS 904 shroud would be nice but $$$)
Crystal : Yobokies sapphire (one of the standard sizes available)
Rubber Gaskets : Same as that of a popular watch (eg SKX007) to ensure reliable and long term supply of parts.

Thoughts/suggestions ??? Or is this just a dream ....
I do NOT need another watch , I have enough watches ...

Many forums out there are being "sponsored" by backers (companies with an inherent interest in the sector) ... so potential conflict of interest .... my guess ...

Building a watch from scratch is not easy. The amount of $$ is a lot, for a small production run, you talking about 600-800 a piece.

If we ever want to have a project watch of our own, we need to rope in local watch companies to do it for us. I can only think of movas lol.
Not as active.

Too many diff taste to account for. Will be very tough.
To cut down cost, it would be best to use an existing case.

Instead of ETA move, can use 6R15. Jake B sells them for usd75 iirc (probably can get cheaper if MO)..
bezel can be made locally I think. It is easier than making a case.
Big Time can do dials too right?

Depends if a design can agreed by everyone.
But I doubt it will happen.

super hard work...cos no one is directly working as a parts manufacturer to make the case first. think tat is e hardest to design n make agreeable appealing+functional(diver?) to most ppl.. movt is just buy n put...dial can be slowly design..not to mentioned budget to set the tooling..

hobby wise is hard unless the design team is super committed to the project using time after work and leftover from family commitments...but if have SC watch, think lotsa bros will support one..

Can we use a popular watch as base, say an SKX? That will give us the case and movement.
We can custom everything else I guess - dial, bezel/bezel insert, bracelet, lume colour...
Alternative we can probably ask manbushijie to do this as a turnkey job. Check http://www.manbushijie.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; out! We can always specify the movements etc.

Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't
own it, but you can use it. You can't keep
it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it
you can never get it back.
