Now, this photo is beginning to go viral.

Why? Well, as some netizens pointed out, a Malaysian police officer looks like a murder suspect he is hunting down.

Japan police 'solve riddle of missing bike saddles

AFP
Tuesday, Aug 27, 2013
TOKYO - Japanese police have got to the bottom of a mysterious crime wave that saw 200 leather bicycle saddles vanish in a matter of months, reports say.

Joji Kondo, 35, confessed to police that he would steal the saddles and then sniff and lick them when he got home, the Sports Hochi reported on Sunday.

He told officers that he liked the texture and smell of leather and that he particularly "likes saddles sat on by women", the newspaper said.

Police in Yokohama, near Tokyo, had been receiving regular reports since January that bicycle seats were going missing, the paper and other media said.

Kondo told police that he knew by the aroma whether the bike he was targeting belonged to a man or a woman, the paper said.

The Kanagawa prefectural police declined to confirm the reports.

Fellow members into MANUKA Honey, BE ALERT!
Honey claims latest blow NZ export reputation

New Zealand's exports have hit another snag following recent dairy contamination scares, this time over the authenticity of products sold as manuka honey.

The United Kingdom's Sunday Times is reporting that the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a nationwide alert asking regulators to watch for honey labelled as manuka but derived from other sources.

Manuka honey sells for a big premium over other honey internationally thanks to endorsements from various celebrities including singer Katherine Jenkins, actor Scarlett Johansson, and tennis star Novak Djokovic.

The Sunday Times said it sold for up to 45 pounds for a 500g jar in british stores.

But tests by the scientific arm of the UK environment and food ministry, along with overseas studies suggested much manuka had nothing to set it apart from ordinary honey except price.

It said research by the main honey producers' organisation in New Zealand revealed that 1700 tons of manuka were produced each year, compared with the estimated 1800 tons of "manuka" honey sold in the UK.

''As much as 10,000 tons are sold worldwide, suggesting widespread fraud,'' the Sunday Times said.

The FSA said all trading standards authorities had been "asked to make sure anyone selling manuka honey is aware that they must fully comply with the law".

In a statement the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) said it was aware of "a variety of claims about manuka honey and is actively working with industry to resolve any issues and provide clarity for producers and consumers".

"As part of this process, MPI is currently working with industry representatives and NZTE to develop guidance that addresses labelling of manuka honey."

It expected industry to ensure products met importing country labelling requirements and that product sold domestically complied with New Zealand's law regarding truth in labelling, including the Food Standards Code and the Fair Trading Act.

MPI was working towards a single definition of manuka honey that was internationally-agreed and backed up by robust science so that both industry and consumers could be certain about any claims made.

Food Safety Minister Nikki Kaye said she was aware of the various claims about manuka honey.

The regulator MP was working with industry and overseas regulators to resolve the issues.

"Part of the difficulty lies in no common international definition for manuka honey and a lack of clarity of appropriate scientific markers.''

Over the next month she expected officials and industry representatives to develop a guideline to help clarify some of the labelling issues

Longer term MPI was working with the science community to develop a single definition of manuka honey that was both internationally-agreed and backed up with robust science.

Was it because of the earlier fatal accident which triggered this riot?
