Sharing our latest hoot from Milan, along with some pics...
Pls excuse many of the pics taken with a phone (too lazy to use the cam)...
Taken at the Rolex boutique in Milan
Trying out some Jaeger LeCoultres at Milliaud (Paris), served by a nice French gentleman who didnt want to see us freeze our butts off in the cold windy morning (despite being a tad early before their opening hours)...
Uber smooth winding. Very nicely decorated automatic movement.
I've not seen a thinner manual wind watch than this one ...

nice bro!!!!!!!!
Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't
own it, but you can use it. You can't keep
it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it
you can never get it back.

Bro, dream on lah! If its 570 Eur, that piece would have been on my wrist, catching the flight home!!!
I took that piece off and place it on the table. Next to it, i think are some dress accessories. Apparently, Jaeger LeCoultre dont just produce watches alone, they have jeweleries as well. He's very sharp eyed and saw that pink gold DD on my sister's wrist. He took out a beautiful pink gold 1.5ct diamond ring that matches her watch perfectly. Almost on cloud 9 till we saw the price, 15,000 Eur!!!

JLC has some very nice models. If u look at their finishing, its very refined too. I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the winding is for their movements. Too bad they dont command a good trade value like Rollies.

Its a great place for shopping. The Italians are warm and friendly. Some may not be well versed in English but still they try their best to communicate. In addition, as Italy's economy isnt great, they are more open to negotiations and sinkies are pretty good in this area!!!
Be warned... It'll be best to go alone though. Any female specie tagging along ....

Its not really worth buying watches at the airport. I have checked the prices... not good.
Truth is, its not really worth getting watches in Paris either... usually more expensive and u get a lower tax refund. For longchamps, u can get it at Printemps (if u want to avoid the crowd at Lafayette) or if u have the time, go to La Valee Village outlet to get a good deal if u dont mind off season products. There's also additional discounts when u are a member or use their shopping express shuttle service.
The one thing i really like about the airport at Paris is their new Terminal 2.. in particular... the TOILET! It has got to be the CLEANEST, MOST MODERN and WELL LIT toilet of all the airports that i've ever been to. Its spacious with auto taps, auto soap dispenser, auto lighting, auto dryer with UV killer. Check it out... this is the men's toilet...

A lot of HongKongers in the other forum are suggesting to hoot watches in Italy than any other countries due to their higher VAT refund... SWITZERLAND is the most ex one... can claim only much lesser than any other countries...sys12345 wrote:Its not really worth buying watches at the airport. I have checked the prices... not good.

Re: Sharing our latest hoot from Milan, along with some pics
Problem with many people is that they listen to their tour guide/manager telling them the best place to get a watch is in Switzerland. Well, it is the best place to get a watch if u need to get one at the HIGHEST price!!!
My shopping experience in Milan has been quite positive, starting from the airport. The Italians are warm and friendly. As the economy isnt good, they are practical. Some may not be well versed in English but they try their best to communicate and assist. At the airport, i was able to get a discount for a private car service, making it even cheaper than getting a cab to the city! In addition, u have someone lugging all your luggage for u and we travelled to our hotel in comfort, in a Chyrsler Voyager. For watches, typically when u visit a watch boutique, the price is fixed. Well, over there... the prices can be negotiated and their service is excellent! Unlike France, u can actually get back a big chunk of the VAT (just credit back into your card instead of taking cash).
HKers are pragmatic people... they know where to find a good deal. Cant go wrong!
