I think so far only swatch boutiques carry the Sistem 51?

Yup, last I heard they only have it in Orchard Gateway. Now it seems Jem also has it.

But as with most Swatch, you can only get them in their boutiques or counters.

I must say the watches look and feel cheap but the design and the thought that went into it, it is worth collecting. It helps that they are inexpensive.

Happy hunting.

The watches are typical Swatch, plastic and flimsy, but I see them as milestone watches. The fully machine assembled mechanical movement with 90 hour power reserve represents a breakthrough in watch design. And for once, the innovation is at the affordable end of the market.

In all honesty that's the most biased review I have ever read. He probably had a defective watch to start with.

Not defending Swatch here..but I had the blue Sistem51 for a while earlier this year..not too long after its launch in Europe. My piece kept decent time within 5s per day when worn, power reserve as advertised and I wore the watch in the shower more than once with no ill effects. My only gripe was that it runs a lot faster on my winder and there is some "play" in the hands when adjusting time. Ultimately flipped it as it was difficult matching the color to my usual casual wear colors.

So for bros who want to purchase one, don't let that particular tear down/review put u off, there are plenty of more objective reviews on the net- by watch makers as well as watch lovers.

The standard 2 years warranty also gives me a fair amount of assurance.

Take the Sistem51 for what it is...a cheap..funky watch. And plastic components will eventually make it's way into other low end watches.

Swatch sistem 51 in singapore

read the review; I'm not impressed with the writer's total bias-ness. If he's so particular about accuracy, then just go buy a Quartz or g-shock. If he's so particular about workmanship, then please spend the dough and buy some high end pieces. I will wear my 51 with pride in the meantime: Image

What's the usual discount on Swatch? I saw the Sistem51 available at about 180 here in Taipei after tax refund, wondering if that's a good deal or should I wait till Singapore shops start offering it at discount.

Swatch boutique will never offer a discount. Not sure if sistem51 is available at other ships? Haven't seen them outside of boutiques.

Yup, I know. So was wondering what the usual discount at other shops is for Swatch. Hopefully they will carry the Sistem51 at some point.

The price here for the Sistem51 is about 15% off Singapore's retail, which is decent if not spectacular.

I saw the 3 colors @ JEM Swatch.
The red stands out more.
