Rolex in SG

Post by dd41623 » 29 Jan 2015 11:21

Hi all. Any recommendations on Singapore shops where new Rolex watches are sold? And what is the least expensive model available?

Also, if anybody has recently bought a Rolex and can share the shop, model and price, please send me a pm.

Thanks and regards to all!

Check out the dealers on sgroc but buyer beware, though their prices are low.

Shops? Many like HJ, Chuan watch, bronze age, Athena, JW etc, trust worthy but price will be higher than the forum dealers. A Google search will provide their details.

Thanks Balzebub71. Yeah, I am wary of sgroc, heard of some scams over there.
Guess I'll stick to the shops. I usually shudder when surrounded by expensive stuff, but this will be better since it's my brother who's looking to buy.
Hope to avoid the rude salespeople
other articles mention too. Some look at you as if they have judged that you can't afford their wares.

which model is your bro looking for? Yeokimchoy seems to be trustworthy but he has only few models in stock.

Yeo Kim choy is cool, deal at RSC to be safe. I bought two Rolex end of last year from shops as well, safe easy deal.

Will look up Yeokimchoy.

Hi CEO. Brand new. Looking at the costs of those though (8k+),I might have to convince him to go the used route:).

Thanks for the advice, Balzebub.

Just ask for budget and model preference. Just randomly buying a lowest priced Rolex or any other brand of watch is a recipe for disaster.

Bzb71, good warning. I will let him research at least what looks he likes. Just realized he didn't even specify quartz or auto.

Makes me wonder what prompted him to go down that path. He was satisfied with the Black Monster and SKX007 he got two to three years back. Argh.

Will let you all know how this adventure goes. Any tips are still welcome!

Agreed with balzebub.

If this is his first big ticket purchase, buy one he really like and not just becos of the 'most' affordability of this brand juat bcos its a Rolex.

I never bought a brand new piece myself, i went towards the preowned route for several reasons.

- not a dress watch person (Datejust are out). Ok, maybe a few are nice but not nicer than sports model.
- older sports models are nicer(than current model)
- my budget.

Heh agree with lunarin first big ticket item needs to be carefully chosen so as to reduce chance of post purchase dissonance, I have lost count of the amount of $$ I have lost from flipping watches over the past few years, something my SO is constantly bringing up everytime I want to pull the trigger on another watch.

Here's another.

I would get a sub no date for that kind of budget. Classic piece.

Thanks maxwinamp. Bro is still browsing, probably dizzy with all the possibilities ;)

He and I are in our mid40s btw, so I am also betting he chooses a sub, else a datejust.

After seeing Trident's post about his Longines Conquest Heritage, I recommended it to my brother and he decided to get it.

Thanks to Trident and all of you for the help, guys! It was fun, but that price range is too much for me.
