I know there is no real "shelf-life" for watchesbut is there a rule of thumb as to what constitutes a "new" purchase as for example the watch is made in say Feb ...

Re: Seiko Quartz / Mechanical ?

To answer Miker, I would think that most people would prefer a wear and forget type of watch which would most likely be a quartz watch. These do not require much adjustment as they tend to be super accurate and only a change of battery is require once a couple of years. Therefore, in my opinion, mos...

Re: Cleaning your watch , How Do you Do It ?

I was also told the same as the ultrasonic vibration will "shake" the mechanism. I saw one ultrasonic cleaner that have a curved plastic accessory that keeps your watch body abive the water. But this method cleans the bracelet only.

Re: Cleaning your watch , How Do you Do It ?

Hi, tot stem bath no good. I think I remember readying somewhere to avoid steam for watches.

As for me, I just rinse in running water after wearing. Use mild soap and extra soft tooth brush to clean nw and then. Do not intend to sell anything so just keep clean for myself. Cheers. :D

Re: Watch Boxes - What do you use??

Are the prices for the 007 K or J models?

As for box, I use a jewelery box I got from shops selling rosewood chinese furniture. NIce pearl inlay on the box. Admitedly cannot store many watches but eight or nine is no problem.

Wow very nice watch. Love the dial. Was told "hi-beat" watches will requires more servicing and p[arts repalcement as they wear out faster (??). Do you find this to be true? Wear your GS in good health!

Re: All members, please come in & introduce youselves

Hi all, just joined. Always loved watches. My first seiko was digital seiko from the 70s. Long gone now. Stumbled onto this site while researching the MM300. Have wanted to get one since a couple of years back.
Now just want to learn a bit more. Cheers.
