I love quartz accuracy and fuss free pick up and go. But to drop hundreds or even thousands on a quartz can be heart pain, especially if u flip your watches. Buyers will always say it's just a quartz, make it sound like a bad thing then push your asking price down, doesn't matter if it's a high accuracy quartz or solar etc. Hence I think quartz i will buy low-cost ones only..less than $300, unless I am sure I will keep it.

Only thing about quartz is the lack of a continuous second hand sweep. That one is beautiful

Thanks! There are enough types of watches to suit everyone of us. High tech or old school, they are all a thing of beauty!

You can check thread on spring drive sweep hands. It was mentioned that there are quartz watches with continuous sweep. The Buluva for one I think.

Was at wins today looking at poison lol. The prospex automatics were nice but the sweep is not as smooth.

Uncle was trying to recommend me Citizen Men's BJ2119-06E Eco-Drive Promaster Depth Meter Watch over the seiko prospex but it is quartz movement. But feels nice and heavy lol.

Wow thats quite a bit for a quartz movement, GS notwithstanding.

I would probably go for the spring drive tuna at around 4.5k....poison poison..

Well whatever floats your boat man..happy hunting..

Mechanical/automatic for me. I don't really mind the lack of accuracy compared to a quartz watch. The second hand sweep of a mechanical watch is just mesmerising.

GS quartz second hand hits the mark ALL the time. It is true, I have seen it. Also read:

Vote for Automatic. it has a unique feeling when wearing as compared to a quartz. and if well maintained, can be a lifelong friend on the wrist
