From the specs of the Citizen A660 quartz movement, it is definitely much better in accuracy. Being thermal compensated is a huge advantage too.
I would like to read more on this A660 calibre - time for me to google i think
Thanks for sharing!
Apparently, Citizen has up the ante with their HAQ. It has a eco drive version of the A660. Initial testing result is very promising......

I think the general population doesnt care if its quartz/mechanical
While I generally prefer handwind mechanicals over auto mechanicals over quartz
Quartz can be beautiful too

I think it boils down to the preference of the end user. As long as they are able to derive maximum satisfaction from the watch, I think whether the watch is quartz or mechanical would become a secondary issue.

Kinetic uses a mechanical rotor to generate electric charge , which is then stored in a capacitor that powers basically a Quartz movement .

I read from somewhere that 80% of watch enthusiasts are collectors of mechanical or automatic movement watches.
But 80% of the watch buyers in the world are buying Quartz.
So, while we are raving about how our passion for automatic / mechnical watches in this humble forum, the fact still remains that more quartz watches are being sold by the thousands, before you can you say "Majulah Singapura".
