Seiko tuna, where to see an actual one?

Post by tjh07 » 25 Jun 2013 13:49

Hi guys,

I want to buy a sbbn015 or sbbn017. But I am concerned about the size and would like to view before taking the plunge. Does anyone know where I can try on an actual tuna in Singapore? Or can any kind bros volunteer their watch? :D

If you can wear and be comfortable with Emperor Tuna, most other watches will seem small to you.

I want Ivan-San!

Thj - the 015/017 are more wearable. I have a small wrist and find them easier for daily wear. As for the emperor tuna, the thickness is the main issue. Have a feel of it before you make the decision.

Many bros here would be willing to share more ideas.

Welcome to scs!

Was about to commit to the emperor tuna but didnt pull the tigger due to the size. The watch actually wears smaller than its stated diamensions due to its hidden lug design which is different from the 015/017 but I still felt it was too big for my wrist.

The 015/017 on the other hand wears well even for my tiny 6.25 inch wrist, just wish seiko offered a mechanical movement alternative. Im not too sure if big time has any stock at hand but 2 weeks back when I called they did not have any and told me it would take 3 weeks after placing an order.

Ya, just commented the same thing to my friend this afternoon...and may be that's why the Sardine is so popular now.

yea the sardine is an alternative with an auto movement but case finishing wise I dont think it comes close to the Tuna.
There's actually a 6R15 Fieldmaster SBDC011 which uses a case very simillar to the Tuna but its not a very popular piece I noticed.

To me, the Sardines is more affordable, of good size for daily office wear, has mechanical movement for those who prefer mechanical like me. Nonetheless, Tuna is still on my hoot list.

Tuna, if you like just hoot.
If regret can still sell.
Value hold quite well.
