Since we want to do a club watch, it will be ideal that the watch base is from Seiko.

Now, let's start a survey on the price point, just vote your preference, then we will proceed from there. ;)

Looking at the price range... most likely deeper diver watch is not possible as most of the models falls within the 301~500 range.
Sports model with @ least 100m WR is most likely to be available from the 201~300 range liaoz.

Exactly, not that I'm not positive about it, just being realistic.

Cost of a Dial = $30 - $50, depending on the qty
Cost of hands = $10 - $40, depending on official hands from TS or OEM

Remaining cost goes to the watch.. bare minimal is $150 onwards, which is why the lowest option is $200 and below, assuming we just change the dial of a Seiko 5 watch...

Maybe we can go w/o the modding of hands just lik the fff mod than it wil b cheaper...:)

If we get the SEIKO 5 used in the fff mod cost is ard $160-$180+$30-$50(dial) n if we MO frm goh maybe dial mod is free than is oni abt $250 n below...:)
As 4 skx007 we can get the K model which is cheaper since we r changin the dial so lppl no diff if is a J or a K

Wouldn't it be simpler by fix a price point of let say $300 first.

Gather the pple willing to pay.
And once minimum number hit, just proceed.

And any balance will be returned after the watch is done.

This is just my $0.02

Since this is the 1st watch... i think Seiko will be the one. I remember Seiko receive customise dial.. as long u send them the design. Their minimum order is 100units. Just surf in Seiko Japan website u might find the link...

I think the SKX007 is a good model to base the first forum watch on :) It is afterall, a Seiko icon. What's more, it falls within our budget, right?

I'm quite excited, and happy that i joined this forum earlier to take part in this :)

i dont want to dampen the mood, but to be honest, it will be quite tough to all agree on a watch design.

if we go just for a dial design based on a 7s or 4r movt, i seroiusly think it is possible. like the FFF dial with date
so bros can use it for any watch they like.

btw, do you guys like the SC logo found on the zulu given out during the 1yr anniversary?
perhaps we can put that onto the dial?

just throwing up ideas thats all..

I agree, just make a dial, for a common movement.

What was the other thread on this called?
