Terms of BNIB??

I was wondering the term BNIB is commonly used is a FS, how you really determine whether it is really BNIB??

Being a newbie, more then often, you will wear the watch for one or two days before the watch grows or does not grows on you, thereafter, a FS will be posted to fund another grail. It is still BNIB or LNIB???

BNIB

Brand new in box, has not been worn before and usually has all tags, stickers or plastics that came as though bought new from the stores.

LNIB

Like new in box, it is a watch that has been worn, although it has been kept in perfect condition and has no difference from a brand new piece. 100%

Mint

A watch that has been worn before but great care has been taken. Signs of wear may be visible under magnification. 95-100%

Near Mint

Shows very light signs of wear and common areas include faint hairline scratches on the case, bezel, bracelet or buckle that are visible to the naked eye. 90-95%

Excellent

Might have light scratches which are more numerous than in near mint condition. Strap might also have been used but no stains. There should be no dents or dings as well as scratches on the sapphire. 85-90%

Good

May show obvious signs of use from the scratches and most likely worn frequently. Might have slight dings or dents as well. 80-85%

I prefer the TZ system of grading thou. More levels, but once worn it cannot be BNIB although most will just abuse the BNIB grade if there's no marks one the watch.

BNIB and LNIB is separated by a thin line..depends on the ethics of seller .
to me, BNIB means watch is brand new and unworn with all tags/sticker/accessories etc. but this is just a guideline.
as most buyers will try the watch out probably for hrs-days etc till he decide to sell it. If it looks exactly 100% as day 1,most buyers will label the watch as BNIB and some better sellers will add on that watch had been worn on wrist just to try(with duration)...

Here's the TZ grading scale, describe the watch condition very well with clear cut definition between each grades.

Actually, 2nd hand should not be BNIB already.... so no such thing as BNIB if it's pre-owned.
