If you like and understand Hakka folk songs, I highly-recommend "阿淘的歌" by 陈永淘. One of the most sort-after audiophile album. The Japanese first press gold CD is worth the price of a Seiko Marine Master 300. The Taiwanese first press normal CD is worth the price of a Seiko Green Monster.

+1 one of the best! No need to understand Hakka (helps if you do) The vocals and the instrumentatiom will be enough. First heard it some years back palyed through some really hig end equioment. Man, that was some sound!

Yes, I agree the first Japanese pressings are brighter sounding than Taiwanese ones, that's probably why they cost 4 to 5 times more. Clearer, cleaner and more transparent sounding to many who prefer to use tube amplifications.

The current available ones are Japanese re-releases in K2HD and XRCDs. Both formats are also considered "brighter" sounding than Taiwanese ones. Even these are very, very hard to find in Asia (including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Mainland China). The original Taiwanese pressed CD is already out-of-print.

Most people who have the original first pressings are still holding on to them and unwilling to let go. Therefore, the used and second-hand markets are fruitless as well.
