Personal preference would dictate the black strap. Classy watch. Wear it in good health!Orient Emperor wrote:or maybe this strap..

I too thought the black would work best, but then the patina of the dial goes better with a reddish brown strap.. I suspect it would go well with black if the dial was original condition.. In the end I got a Hirsch 'Crocolook' strap..davtse wrote:Personal preference would dictate the black strap. Classy watch. Wear it in good health!Orient Emperor wrote:or maybe this strap..

the croc strap looks pretty good!
Re: Vintage IWC found in secondhand shop
It's a beauty... The brown strap complemented the aged dial nicely. Nice work!

Re: Vintage IWC found in secondhand shop
Apparently they hold records right back to their first watches.. For a fee I can get a full authenication paper.. Also, they can supply all the original hands, dial, crown, etc to bring it back to original.. All provided I send it to them via the authorised agent in my country.. They hold stocks for all their watches..roo7 wrote:Wow they kept data dated 40 years. I'm amazed.Orient Emperor wrote:Message back from IWC..

Very cool! This just gave IWC a huge advantage against their competitors in my books.Orient Emperor wrote: Apparently they hold records right back to their first watches.. Re: Vintage IWC found in secondhand shop
Not one for the purists perhaps.. But I managed to get a crown for ref 803 from the same timeframe.. The catalogue photos seemed to have crowns that may have been the same..
