From the informations i gathered so far, there are several posts mentioned that the c07.111 Powermatic 80 movement was sort of origin from the 2824, then later fine tune in architectural design, with toning down of 28.8k bhp downgrade to 21.6k bph to achieve the 80hrs power reserve...

didn't know they ETA made other changes you had mentioned...

ETA didn't. Tissot did.
If Tissot were to develop a caliber from scratch, it won't be mid-priced anymore.

In order to achieve 80hrs PR, definitely something architecturally has to be tweaked - it's physics.
80hr PR is not easily archived by toning down the frequency alone.

80hrs? Try beat this!... upcoming from SWATCH, System51 with

You can not see the winding rotor, because it is transparent, so you can see through it. The purpose is of course to have the possibility to color the movement. The weight of the rotor is at its outer part. The power reserve is 90 hours!

Having develop this 80 hrs PR version and also past records of winning the concours international de chronometrie in 2011 with 768 points using a modified 2824 (far ahead of the second place F.P Journe with only 488 points  ) Makes me wonder what other new tweaks can Tissot will develop for the 2824.

Think they got a real good deal for a chronometer one for around $1.2k.

That'll be the champions of all Powermatic.
