Itching for a chronograph

Post by roo7 » 17 Jul 2011 10:41

Thinking of adding a chronograph into my rotation, recently I sold off my O&W, now I don't really have a "modern" chronograph, apart from my Soviet vintages.

Any suggestions ? :ugeek:

I just recalled I got a Vostok 3133 chronograph with my wife.

Think I should take it back from her lol.

Speaking of chronograph, there's a seiko one that is reminiscent of the speedmaster? which model is it? Sorry to hijack but don't want to purposely start a thread just to ask this one question.

No, this Swatch is not using the Lemania 5100. Lemania 5100 movements are thicker.

Lemania 5100 movements are easy to recognise. The 12 o'clock register shows 24-hours. There are also FOUR main hands on the dial. Two hands show the traditional hours and minutes. The other two hands are for the chronograph. One chronograph hand shows the running seconds while the other shows the elapsed minutes. It is very easy to read the elapsed time, compared to other chronograph formats.

Here's an angled pic of one of my Lemania 5100:

(copy n paste fm wus) the auto chrono has the new C01.211 movement (used in Swatch and Tissot chronographs) based on the Lemania 5100 (but with more plastic/synthetic parts, and two less jewels!).

Based on. Not Lemania 5100. The functionalities are very different.
