Re: CCCP 1980 DELTA CP-7017-01
Handsome looking piece there! Large and not so blinky enuff, qualify as humble military theme design.
I came across this brand when i had a walk around the BEDOK Mall(right on the name? Or BEDOK Point?) some months ago and stumbled this brand. But have yet able to find any clearer info on the brand. Whether is it really Russian owned? Or Russian inspired? Cos the designs are on most of their watches are not really... conservatively RUSSIAN. Lots of styling are EURO/American styling. Some of their automatic models doesn't seems to be Russian as well... perhaps, more common and service friendly Miyotas?

H2 carries only a small collection, a few SPUTNIK, which is quite cool looking. The Aviator series, running on quartz, are vintage looking, very nice and I would have hoot one if they are on auto.
Movement are a mix of Japanese and Russian.

Interesting...
http://www.cccptime.com/aboutus" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Seems like it's the old Slava but they probably not producing movements anymore, as ed yeo suspected: http://www.cccptime.com/collection/DELTA/CP701701" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Japanese movement, there are other models which utilises Russian movements: http://www.cccptime.com/collection/SPUTNIK1/CP700101" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
interestingly, their manual shows all models have quick set date, not sure which russian movement have a q-set date.
Well, it's good to know there's a heritage behind this model.

Nice looking from Russia with love , talking about Russian made watches , do any bros or Sis here got hands on experience with vostok before ? Any input any information is much appreciated , if happen to have someone own one or touch one before , please share , much appreciated Thanks .
Re: CCCP 1980 DELTA CP-7017-01
When my friend called me to go with him to buy this, I didn't know much about this brand.
But he was keen as he call it a U Boat lookalike. After goggling, I was surprise to find this brand have such a rich history.
Built was good, weight was quite light despite it's size and wears very comfortably.

Well, Russian made watches are made to last. If we just focus on Vostok, I will ask, are you looking atkment wrote:Nice looking from Russia with love , talking about Russian made watches , do any bros or Sis here got hands on experience with vostok before ? - Vintage Vostok
- Modern Vostok
- Modern Vostok Europe
Vintage Vostok are still very widely available on eBay and other international watch sales forums. They are very durable, of course if they are used, don't expect brand new conditions and they usually have acrylic crystals, don't expect mineral or even sapphire. It's all about function over form.
Modern Vostok are still produced by Vostok themselves, this is 1 of the more famous online store: http://www.meranom.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Modern Vostok Europe is not exactly Russian, although most of the VE models are powered by Vostok movements, there are more recent models powered by Seiko and quartz (can't remember which brand).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vostok_Europe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The quirks with Russian pieces are like lousy quality bracelets, the default Vostok bracelets is really bad. But hey for below $100 you get a 200M rated diver. 2nd thing is there's no quick set dates, so usually I prefer dateless models.
Well, if you don't want to venture too deep, stick with the modern designs, go to Red Army to get an idea and compare the prices online
There will be exclusive rights to RAW, so certain brands can't be sold to Singapore, like Volmax if I recall correctly.
Phew, 1 of the longest post I wrote this couple of months. Russians always get me ticking

Wow thanks , you probably did own quite a broad numbers of extensive vostok models already .
I dont really have a specific of what or which type of vostok I'm considering , but I have to admit initially it's not something that's very expensive to own one , and I thought these Russia made auto vostok are very suitable for low budget entry lever enthusiast like me ,
And given the fact is I don't know someone whom really come across or have actually own one of these or have hands on experience with these auto vostok , most importantly I'm on budget so I can't really afford to just venture in and throw hundreds into something that I'm unfamiliar of , so the chance of owning one of those seaman at that time did not materialize .
And if you really don't mind , I would like you to evaluate, comments and give your thoughts about the $200usd 80s vintage vostok below ,

Hi trident , I'm new in this forum just join not long ago , am sorry to hijack your thread hope you don't mind , and it's good to share more about Russian made autos , as the cost of owning one is not on a very high side , might be worth keeping one or two of these Russian autos.Trident wrote:When my friend called me to go with him to buy this, I didn't know much about this brand.

As for the watch that your friend has choose to purchase , may I ask , do you mind sharing what's the damage for that Delta ?
Re: CCCP 1980 DELTA CP-7017-01
kment, no prob about hijacking this thread, meant to be shared. I am not familiar with Russian watches too.kment wrote:Hi trident , I'm new in this forum just join not long ago , am sorry to hijack your thread hope you don't mind , and it's good to share more about Russian made autos , as the cost of owning one is not on a very high side , might be worth keeping one or two of these Russian autos.Trident wrote:When my friend called me to go with him to buy this, I didn't know much about this brand.

But I feel the price my friend paid for the Delta ($468) a bit on the high side. Some website prices are much affordable. Or you can browse 007
sale thread which he posted some time ago. There is a link to his gallery where u can view his collection.

Re: CCCP 1980 DELTA CP-7017-01
Finally got a small window of time to reply
Well those 2 Vostoks are not worth the price.
Firstly the military Komanderskie doesn't have big CCCP prints. It's just a gimmick to attract new collectors.
Secondly, a good condition original Vostok Amphibian or Komanderskie is usually < USD100.
You can get good buys at 60-80 USD too.
If you really want to go down the route of collecting vintage, I suggest you read up on the designs and learn how to spot the fakes, or it will be a rocky journey.
You can consider buying modern Vostoks from the site, they don't cost USD200 too.
Shouted across the road.
