Tag Heuer Pro 2000 (90's)

Post by Trident » 30 Sep 2014 21:41

My friend have been looking for this watch for the past few months, at Bencoolen it's $500 with a loose bezel. So we continued looking.
As luck have it, I saw an ad on Sunday in a local watch forum, a hobbyist is putting his for sale at $200.
I wasted no time and made an appt to meet on Monday. I think it took less than 3 minutes for me to close the deal. And strange enuf I meet a colleague who is wearing a same Pro 2000 but with different design. I am no good with Tag, so if anyone has any info, would appreciate if you could share it. It's quartz movement and 34mm case. Here's some pic.

Sorry to ask. Did you authenticate your piece? Looks a little rough for a Tag.

My 1st TAG was a cheong one, hooted it for $35 then thru one of the classmates who have such lobang back when i was in Sec.2...

No, didn't authenticate, didn't think of that. The seller is from SG Rolex club, that gave me some assurance.
Opening the caseback can tell? Or must send to Tag AD? Thanks.

Not expert but your tag looks some what a bit off to me. Best to get it looked at by Tag service centre.

By the way did the seller have many completed sales in the forums?

Simple ask the seller. His reaction to the question will give you hints.
Not as active.

Seller is guitarman frm sgrolex. He did complete a few sales of vintage watches.
He did mention that the original dial was changed.

Hands, bezel, crown and case look fishy too. Ask for refund.

Just contact the seller and voice your doubts. Buying old pieces is a risky affair. Unless you do your research well otherwise u never know if u are getting the real thing, a fake or a Franken watch...but I do notice the seller never provides details in his sales posts? Which feels "off"
